Why local matters when you're booking clearance in Arran.
The Isle of Arran is one of our scheduled island service areas — we ferry the van from Ardrossan and work full clearances across the entire KA27 postcode. That includes Brodick, Lamlash, Whiting Bay, Kildonan and Kilmory along the southern coast, Lochranza and Catacol in the north, Pirnmill and Machrie along the west, and Corrie and Sannox on the eastern coast.
Arran jobs are scheduled around the CalMac sailing timetable from Ardrossan, with most clearances booked into a single working day or split across consecutive sailings for larger estates. Crews drive the 3.5t van onto the morning sailing, work the property on the island, and return the loaded van to mainland SEPA-licensed disposal on a confirmed evening sailing. Ferry costs are carried transparently in the quote.
Arran's housing stock is unusually varied — substantial Victorian and Edwardian villas along the Brodick and Lamlash seafronts (many built for Glasgow shipping families), traditional whitewashed cottages in every coastal village, 1960s–1980s council stock around Brodick, modern detached homes on the southern coast, and a substantial population of second homes and holiday lets across the entire island.
The most common Arran jobs we run are probate and downsizing clearances from the larger seafront villas, second-home and holiday-let resets between seasons (Arran has a very substantial weekender market), pre-sale clearances for properties marketed by mainland agents, and full house clearances ahead of new ownership.
