1. Who we are
SK House Clearance and Rubbish Removal ("we", "us", "our") is a family-run clearance company based at 15, 2/L, 2 Kelburn Ct, Largs KA30 8HN. You can contact us on 07480 164649 or info@skremovals-clearance.co.uk. We are the data controller for personal data collected via this website.
2. What data we collect
When you submit a quote request or contact form we collect: your name, phone number, email address (if provided), postcode, the service you're enquiring about, and any details you choose to share in the message field. We also collect basic technical information automatically — IP address, browser type, pages viewed and referral source — via standard server logs and analytics cookies.
3. How we use your data
We use your contact details solely to respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote, schedule a clearance and follow up afterwards. Technical data is used to improve site performance, prevent fraud and understand how visitors find us. We do not sell, rent or share your data with third parties for marketing.
4. Legal basis (UK GDPR)
We process enquiry data on the basis of legitimate interest (responding to your request) and, where a job proceeds, contract performance. Technical logs are processed on the basis of legitimate interest in operating a secure website.
5. Who we share data with
Limited categories only: our website hosting and form-handling providers; our email provider for replying to you; and, where strictly necessary, regulators (e.g. SEPA for waste transfer documentation) or law enforcement. All processors are bound by data-processing agreements and operate in the UK or EEA where possible.
6. How long we keep it
Quote enquiries are kept for 12 months. Customer records (completed jobs, invoices, waste transfer notes) are kept for 6 years to meet HMRC and SEPA record-keeping obligations. Analytics data is anonymised or deleted within 26 months.
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to processing or request portability. To exercise any of these, email info@skremovals-clearance.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
8. Cookies
We use a small number of essential cookies for site functionality and, optionally, analytics cookies to understand traffic. Analytics cookies are anonymised. You can disable cookies in your browser settings — the site will continue to function.
9. Security
Form submissions are transmitted over HTTPS. Customer records are stored on access-controlled systems. We do not store payment card details.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above will change accordingly. Material changes will be flagged on the homepage for at least 30 days.
